Center for Treatment Resistant Depression 

Roughly 1 in 5 people with depression have treatment-resistant symptoms like chronic anxiety and chronic depression.

The AHN Center for Treatment Resistant Depression (CTRD) helps people who have depressive symptoms that haven’t improved, even after trying multiple medications for depression. 

About the CTRD

The CTRD is part of our Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Institute. It was created to help people living with treatment resistant depression manage chronic depressive symptoms. 

Conditions we treat

Our goal is to help you and your family manage your depression so you can gain control of your symptoms including:

  •  Anxiety
  • Sleep problems
  • Chronic pain
  • Relationship distress
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Treatment options at CTRD

We help manage treatment resistant depression with evidence-based diagnostic and treatment options such as:

  • Genomic testing
  • Deep transcranial magnetic stimulation
  • Medication management
  • Bright light therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • CBT for couples
  • Cognitive processing therapy
  • Biofeedback treatments
  • Group therapy for depression

If you need further help, we can also refer you to:

  • Inpatient and outpatient programs
  • Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)
  • AHN Enhanced Pain Management program
  • AHN Center for Sleep Medicine
  • Additional social services

The CTRD team

Our care team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric residents, and social workers. We specialize in treating depressive disorders.
